Immersion in Sport Practicum | GSLD 7300

Domestic or international onsite observations of leadership styles and practices of successful sport executives, programs, facilities, and events that contribute to the development of a global sport leader. Requires approximately ten days of travel.
Where You'll Be
As part of this experience, students will arrive in London and progress to Cardiff, Edinburgh, Stirling and Glasgow where they will interact with sport professionals to expand on the cultural engagement of the people of the United Kingdom.
What You'll Do
As part of the Immersion in Sport Practicum Course, students will be exposed to international sporting events such as soccer, rugby and tennis as well as non traditional sporting events as the Highland Games. Administrative lectures on security, crowd control, team management and promotions are provided from leaders in the sport field throughout the trip.
How It Works
Students pay for their usual 3 credit hour tuition to ETSU. Included in the cost are all lectures, event tickets, hotels and specified meals. Excluded are the costs of airfare and miscellaneous expenses.
Students are responsible for getting to and from the host country on their own. Within the host country, all travel, hotels and specified meals are included. Students will be responsible for some meals.
